Description

The Ancient Walls of Varazze, which once had the purpose of protecting the settlement from external attacks, is one of the most interesting historical finds of the town. Today it is possible to admire its perimeter and some towers, as well as four access points to the walls that have remained intact: Porta di Ponte Vecchio, Porta del Torrione, Porta dei Busci and Porta della Loggia.

Already a candidate for the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Italian Environment Fund) Luogo del Cuore, these walls date back to the 12th century and can be admired especially in the western part of Varazze.
