Pratorotondo – Alta Via dei Monti Liguri

Description

The High Way of the Ligurian Mountains (Alta Via dei Monti Liguri) is a route which winds its way through the Ligurian hinterland, touching some of the most evocative points of the Region. In its Varazzino section, the Alta Via crosses three main junctions, destinations for trekking excursions and walks which are not too demanding and inhabited by a lively nature. Here, beech, chestnut and olive groves are home to roe deer, hares, eagles and many
other characteristic species.

The main stops (whether departures or destinations) of the Alta via dei Monti Liguri easily reachable from Varazze are:

• Pratorotondo – location in the Beigua Park also known as Pra Riondo. From the Refuge
  it is possible to take several paths for mountain bike adventures or simple walks.
• Faiallo Pass (Passo del Faiallo) – from here the path starts to reach the Turchino Pass (Passo del Turchino), between Mele and Masone.
• Colle del Giovo – Apennine pass from which to reach various sites, including Forte Scarato and the Sanctuary of Regina Pacis on the summit of Monte del Beigua.
